RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)

Have you considered becoming Catholic, but first want to know more about it?

Do you know someone who has expressed a desire to become Catholic?

Are you already Catholic, but want to know more about your faith??

RCIA is the place for you!

RCIA is the process by which adults enter into communion with the Catholic Church. It is also for those wishing to expand their knowledge of their Catholic faith.

This is a place to have your questions answered, and find out if the Catholic Church is where God is calling you. Whatever your religious background, we welcome and value it. Each of us is on a journey to God, and we invite you to grow in that relationship.

It is an informal environment in which you are encouraged to ask questions and participate in discussion about the Catholic faith. Focus is on prayer and the practical application of God’s Word in daily life. Facilitators will introduce you to the faith through relevant discussion, and sponsors will guide you along your journey through prayer and sharing their life experiences.

Our discussions will form around the following:

  • Faith
  • The Trinity – God the Father, Jesus the Son, the Holy Spirit
  • Sacred Scripture
  • Catholic Beliefs and Practices
  • The Mass
  • The Sacraments of the Church
  • Prayer
  • The Creeds
  • Saints
  • Mary
  • The Liturgical Year: Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, Pentecost, and Ordinary Time
  • Holiness & Grace
  • Catholic Social Teaching

Becoming Catholic today means joining an ancient faith, deeply rooted in the teachings and traditions of Christ. It is filled with hope and vibrancy as we continue to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to all the ends of the earth.

We have experienced presenters, led by Deacon Sunday Espinoza, Susan Espinoza, and Father Javier. During the process, RCIA participants will break open the readings from Mass, learn how to apply them to their personal lives, and deepen their faith. Our RCIA group participates in parish community activities and attends Diocesan RCIA events.

Sessions begin Wednesday, September 12th, and meet every Wednesday night from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Sister Fabian Social Hall. No registration is required and there is no charge.

We look forward to having you join us!
