Saint Joseph the Worker Parish operates the Dorothy Day Food Pantry.  It is open to give out food on Tuesdays from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

The Food Pantry is located in our Parish Hall (red brick building on south side of the parking lot) at 7405 S. Redwood Road. 

 Donations can be dropped off during the weekend in the Gathering Space or during the week at the Sister Fabian Hall.  If it is locked you can leave them outside the door. We also need volunteers on Tuesdays at 10:30 am and every other Friday at 9:00 am. Also, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00 pm.

Since 1967, Catholic Community Services of Utah’s St. Vincent de Paul Dining Hall has been providing hot meals to those who are hungry in our community. On average, CCS serves 1,000 meals a day to Utahns in need. Our facility provides the only regular mid-day and evening meal service in Salt Lake County.
Who We Help
Anyone is welcome to enjoy a meal at St. Vincent de Paul Dining Hall regardless of age, religion or any other personal circumstance.
What We Do
We serve a mid-day and evening meal to anyone who is hungry during the following times.
Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday: Lunch – 11:30am to 1:00pm, Dinner – 4:45pm to 6:00pm
Saturday: Brunch – 10:00am to 11:00am, Dinner – 4:45pm to 6:00pm
Sunday: Dinner – 4:45pm to 6:00pm
We offer Emergency Assistance, including utility assistance by appointment only (February – until funds are depleted).

The Weigand Homeless Resource Center offers a safe place for homeless individuals to stay cool or get warm during the day. It is the only day shelter of its kind in Salt Lake City.
What We Do
We offer homeless individuals shelter from Utah’s extreme weather conditions, and give access to showers, laundry facilities, luggage storage and haircuts. Our Clients Advocates (CAs) provide direct case management to clients, help them use our computer lab to search for work and benefits programs, and assist them in overcoming obstacles on their road back to self-sufficiency.
For the past 5 years, an average of 250 individuals sign in daily for our services. We have in house partnerships with the Salt Lake City Justice Court, The Road Home, Department of Workforce Services of Utah, and Fourth Street Clinic. We also have key partnerships with Volunteers of America, The Rescue Mission of Salt Lake and the LDS Church.
• Salt Lake City Justice Court offers “Homeless Court” every other week.
• The Road Homes “Centralized Intake Assessment (CIA)” office is located at the center.
• Department of Workforce Services of Utah has outreach workers stationed three times week on site.
• Fourth Street Clinic holds open clinics on Wednesdays from 8 AM to Noon and on the second Thursdays from 8 AM to Noon.
The Weigand Center is open Monday – Friday from 7am to 9pm and on the weekends 7am to 3pm.

Crossroads Urban Center operates a Westside Emergency Food Pantry, they offer food boxes, diapers, formula, hygiene kits, clothing vouchers, etc. They are located at 1358 W. Indiana Ave., and are open Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm you can reach them by calling 801-364-7765.
